UTEP senior distance runner Lilian Koech's big week in the biggest regular season meet of the year, the Texas Relays, earned her Conference USA Female Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning.
Koech's third-place time of 2:05.42 in the 800 meters is the ninth fastest time in the nation this year and leads C-USA. She also ran a C-USA leading time of 4:21.84 that was second in the Texas Relays.
The Miners will be back in action from April 12-13 at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station.
