NCAA approves compensation for image, likeness AP, AP
The NCAA governing board's decision to modify its rules on how college athletes can earn money on their names, images and likenesses could represent a big change in college athletics, but it's way too soon to know how UTEP will be affected, athletic director Jim Senter said.
"The devil is in the details, in how things are implemented from the NCAA's perspective, what's mandatory, what's permissive, what's the minimum, what's the maximum," Senter said Wednesday, a day after the NCAA Board of Governors voted unanimously to permit college athletes to benefit from the use of their name, image and likeness “in a manner consistent with the collegiate model.
