National signing day is a happy time for so many people and so many football programs, a time of new beginnings, hope and optimism.
Wednesday will have an even more special meaning for Luke Laufenberg, a tight end transfer and cancer survivor from Mesa Community College who already is attending classes at UTEP. He will be one of around 18 players rolled out as part of coach Dana Dimel's second recruiting class.
"I'm back to my normal life," said Laufenberg, the son of former Dallas Cowboy quarterback and current Cowboy radio voice Babe Laufenberg.
