And now they are trying to flip that ugly streak upside down.
UTEP will take on UTSA at 7 p.m. Saturday night in the Don Haskins Center. The Miners stumbled through a 12-game losing streak earlier this season. Now they are riding on the wings of a modest two-game win streak, hoping to snowball that into a 12-game streak on the happy side.
Saturday night, though, brings another flip to the script.
"They (the Roadrunners) are playing well," UTEP coach Tim Floyd said. "This is the first time since we've been in the league that they are above us in the standings and are a legitimate contender.
