Lesser opposition hasn't brought out the best in the UTEP men's basketball team this season, but once again they survived, beating Arkansas-Pine Bluff 59-50 Saturday night at the Don Haskins Center to improve to 6-1.
The lead was 54-50 with 2:45 remaining when Kaden Archie scored on a drive to the basket, and after a stop and a Bryson Williams three-point play with 2:34 left, UTEP had its biggest lead of the second half that stood for the final score.
Williams finished with 19 points and seven rebounds for the Miners and was their only player in double figures.
