The cold wind pelted the outside of the Don Haskins Center. But, compared to the UTSA shooting touch on the inside of that building, it was like a summer breeze.
UTEP shot well, defended well, rebounded well — quite simply just played well. Some good Miner defense and some chilly shooting by the Roadrunners combined to make UTEP's third straight win an easy one. The Miners simply smothered UTSA Saturday night in front of 6,446 appreciative fans, taking a 59-39 Conference USA victory.
"We're pleased with the win," UTEP coach Tim Floyd said. "I'd like to give us a little credit (for the poor UTSA shooting) and they can certainly shoot it a little better.
