UTEP quarterbacks begin fall battle Bret Bloomquist, Wochit
The opening act of UTEP's quarterback battle played out Saturday morning like it was expected to.
Incumbent starter Kai Locksley, in his first day after being reinstated to the team, didn't get a single rep in practice, Brandon Jones ran the first team, junior college transfers Gavin Hardison and Isaiah Bravo worked the the second team and TJ Goodwin, Mark Torrez and Calvin Brownholtz squeezed in their reps.
Obviously not much was settled on the first true day of practice, the bulk of the battle will take shape starting Monday in Ruidoso, but coach Dana Dimel gave a preview of how matters will play out.
