UTEP Night at the Chihuahuas cut short Friday night, still fostered student engagement

With the start of the 2024 fall semester, UTEP pride kicked off with an electrifying night filled with music, fun and appearances by the UTEP cheer and choir during UTEP’s Night at the Chihuahuas game Aug. 30.

UTEP joined forces with the El Paso Chihuahuas where students were given free tickets followed by the gifting of 1,000 commemorative t-shirts for the first 1,000 fans.

The evening opened with the UTEP cheer team hyping the crowd by displaying Miner Spirit, as guests arrived and waited for the game to begin.

Freshman, Luke Mena, is part of the UTEP cheer team and shares his experience.
