The Mountain West Conference set a Sept. 26 start date for its football season, which means the Miners' game at Nevada on Sept. 12 is in jeopardy.
That would leave UTEP's opener Sept. 19 against the University of Texas, though the Austin American-Statesman is reporting that game could now move up to Sept. 12, when both teams are open.
That will be up to the Big 12 setting a start date, which it said Monday would be mid-to-late September. UTEP officials were not immediately available to comment on the status of the Nevada game.
This follows UTEP losing its opener against Texas Tech, scheduled for Sept.
