UTEP hangs on to beat Houston Baptist Bret Bloomquist, El Paso Times
This wouldn't have seemed possible at kickoff Saturday night, but there was good news to come out of UTEP's 36-34 victory over a Houston Baptist team presumed to be one of the worst of the 256 teams in Division I.
Notably, the Huskies and their problem-causing offense probably aren't the worst team in the FCS, or even close to it. That's at least a 5-6 team, maybe better.
UTEP won, and a loss in a game that could have gone either way might well have been the lowest moment in a program that has been to some bad, bad places in 103 years of playing this game.
