UTEP locals proud of roots Bret Bloomquist, Wochit
The natural assumption at the end of the Sean Kugler era was that there would be fewer El Pasoans playing for the UTEP football team and be a natural evening out after an era where so many resources were devoted to locals.
That could be the case a few years down the road, but for now, El Pasoans are still all over the Miners' roster.
Though the official two-deep will be announced Monday, there will be two local products starting on the offensive line in right tackle Greg Long from Eastwood and left guard Bobby DeHaro from Montwood, and there may be another starter in Las Cruces fullback Forest McKee.
