UTEP Miners end six-game skid by edging Charlotte in a thriller

Somewhere out there the air is a little lighter, a little fresher and breathing is a bit easier and everything is just a little funnier.

UTEP's Paul Thomas hit a little jumper in the lane with 2.6 seconds remaining and the Miners edged Charlotte 87-86 Thursday night in front of 3,059 fans in Halton Arena in Charlotte, N.C.

While there is joy in El Paso, the air is thick as mud in Charlotte and nothing is funny.
