As UTEP basketball coach Rodney Terry watched the replay of George Floyd getting killed in the streets of Minneapolis last week, a thought popped into his head.

"George Floyd could have been Rodney Terry," said Terry, UTEP's only black head coach at the moment, in a Wednesday online press conference he called. "I grew up in the same type of neighborhood he grew up in, predominantly an all black neighborhood (in Angelton, Texas).

"It could have been my nephew, it could have been my brother, it could have been one of my players.
