The UTEP Miners ended their home season with a loss Wednesday as basketball legend Tim Hardaway watched in the Don Haskins Center, a reminder of the program's past greatness.
When the team next takes the floor early in November in a season of hope and expectations, it won't look much like the squad that lost to Middle Tennessee.
Given that the last home game of this season was a 69-53 loss at the hands of the 12th-in-conference USA Blue Raiders — and the Miners shot 33 percent from the field and were outrebounded 51-33 — that's a good thing.
