UTEP Miner soccer team starts new era for first time in 19 years

For the first time in 19 years, the UTEP women's soccer team comes into a season ushering in a new era when the 2019 team made its debut Sunday in an exhibition 2-0 win at Eastern New Mexico.

Coach Kathryn Balogun is implementing her system after Kevin Cross' 18-year tenure and she's eager to get going.

"It's super exciting," she said. "Last week being able to step out with the whole team and see some players for the first time - we didn't recruit much of this class at all - to be able to see them and how we're going to implement them in this new system is exciting.
