The UTEP men's maddening inconsistency didn't solve itself on its latest road trip.
Western Kentucky went on an 11-point run early in the second half and held the Miners at arm's length the rest of the way in a 74-69 Hilltoppers win that marked UTEP's (4-8 in Conference USA, 11-12 overall) fourth-consecutive loss.
The Miners led by as much as 10 points in the first half when it was drilling 3-pointers, but that eventually dried up. After making 6-of-10 3-pointers in the first half, the nation's No. 350 team in 3-point percentage made 3-of-14 in the second.
