The UTEP Miners (8-8, 4-6) returned home with a 69-51 win Saturday night over the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Roadrunners (8-8,4-5) following a 86-79 road defeat Thursday.
In Game one of the matchup, the Miners were struggling on offense as the Roadrunners seemed to make incredible shot after unbelievable shot all night. The Miners allowed the Roadrunners to go on a 13-1 run that put the score at 20-11 at the 11:00 mark of the first half.
Junior guard Souley Boum drained a 3-point shot to end a five-minute scoring drought finally, bringing down the Roadrunners lead down to eight 24-15.
