Just in time to save their season, the UTEP men's basketball team and Daryl Edwards are charging down the stretch.
In a must-win game against Southern Miss, UTEP scored the first 10 points and never let the Golden Eagles back in while cruising to a 75-56 victory on Sunday at the Don Haskins Center.
Edwards scored 11 points in the first three minutes and finished with 26 points to make his case for back-to-back Conference USA player of the week awards.
Jordan Lathon fully broke out of a long slump with 10 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for UTEP, which closed in on a spot in the C-USA tournament.
