When a UTEP men's basketball team that constantly talks about the importance of defending actually goes out and does that, good things follow.
In a theme of this see-saw season, two days after getting picked apart by UTSA and their high-scoring stars Jhivvan Jackson and Keaton Wallas, UTEP decided it would defend on its home floor.
The resulting 69-51 victory enabled the Miners to salvage a split against the Roadrunners that left both teams 4-6 in Conference USA.
How it happened
A game after Jackson and Wallace combined for 51 points, UTEP held the duo to 22 points on 8-of-26 shooting, part of a night where the Roadrunners shot 30 percent.
