After their first loss of the year at rival New Mexico State, the key for the UTEP men's basketball team against Northern New Mexico College was to rebound, in several senses of the word.
The Miners did, dominating the boards for the first time this season and forcing 25 turnovers as they pulled away from their NAIA opponent for an easy 88-53 victory Tuesday at the Don Haskins Center.
How it happened
UTEP broke the game open with runs of 15-2, 8-0 and 9-0 in a first half where they held the Eagles without a field goal for the final 6:32 and opened up a 51-26 lead.
