As obvious is that is, it hasn't happened much for the UTEP men this season, making the Miners' 87-82 victory at Florida International a most welcomed change.
Coming in ranked dead last out of 352 teams nationally in 3-point percentage, the Miners made 8 of 12 from beyond the arc, never trailed on the way to their most points of the season and kept FIU at arm's length much of the way.
UTEP moved to 6-11 in Conference USA and 13-15 overall while the Panthers fell to 13-15, 7-10 after suffering a season sweep at the hands of the Miners.
