No Division I team in America shoots more 3-pointers than Florida International.
No team in Conference USA loses more games than the Panthers, lending some credence to the UTEP men's philosophy of beating FIU at its own game.
That was a winning strategy Friday night at the Don Haskins Center, when UTEP made 12-of-23 3-pointers and pulled away in the middle of the first half for a 75-59 victory to improve to 5-8 in C-USA. FIU fell to 2-11.
How it went
UTEP came out particularly hot, making eight of its first 10 3-pointers and using that to spark an 18-3 run to go up 38-24 late in the first half.
