The UTEP men's basketball team's trend is well-established: The Miners play poorly, get embarrassed, then redeem themselves.
They did all of that in the course of 40 minutes against struggling UTSA, rallying from an 11-point halftime deficit behind a string of Jorell Saterfield 3-pointers to come away with a 69-64 victory to move to 3-3 in Conference USA.
UTSA fell to 0-6 in league play as UTEP avoided the pratfall against a team that brought eight players and used seven.
How it happened
The Miners did it by playing their way out of a big first-half hole, created by, among other things, a 20-10 rebounding deficit and UTSA's 65-33 advantage in shooting percentage.
