UTEP loses New Mexico State from football schedule; set to resume practice Saturday

On a day when UTEP football lost its game with New Mexico State, leaving it one non-conference contest on its schedule, athletic director Jim Senter said he is still working on a 12-game schedule and coach Dana Dimel said he is preparing for a Saturday restart.

This will mark the first time since 2001 UTEP hasn't played the Aggies, its longest-standing rival, but Senter said he has been diligently working on finding replacements and could have an announcement "in the next 72 hours."

"The last week to 10 days has been an amazing thing for me as an athletic director to see, unprecedented in the amount of change, the fluidity of the situation," Senter said.
