UTEP loses New Mexico State from football schedule after Aggies pull plug on fall

UTEP lost the third of four games from its non-conference football schedule when New Mexico State pulled the plug on its fall football season Thursday morning. This will mark the first time since 2001 UTEP hasn't played its longest-standing rival.

Shortly after the move UTEP called a 2:30 p.m. press conference with athletic director Jim Senter and football coach Dana Dimel to "provide updates on UTEP's 2020 football schedule."

Previously the Miners lost games with Texas Tech and Nevada. The only non-conference game left on UTEP's schedule is Sept. 19 at Texas, though reports are that game is going to be moved to Sept.
