The UTEP offense’s problem, so evident in the 21-17 loss to Louisiana Tech, is easy to diagnose.
A Miners team with above average running backs and a veteran offensive line has to run the ball better Saturday against Southern Miss.
The solution is also straightforward. Entering the sixth game of the season, there are no reinforcements coming, there isn’t magic dust or smoke and mirrors that can fix it.
UTEP will do the same things it tried to do against Louisiana Tech and do them better.
That’s going to mean a line that has taken over some games in previous second halves but also had some season-long issues is going to have to put together a consistent, error-free evening.
