For the moment, UTEP has a football game to ready for against Florida International on Saturday. In this strange stop-and-start season that has affected FIU as much as the Miners, all UTEP can do is keep going forward.
The Miners started their preparation for FIU last Thursday, had a hard competitive practice Saturday and are working under the assumption that an FIU team that has postponed two of its game because of COVID will come to town this weekend.
If it comes off, the game will be UTEP's first in the Sun Bowl in seven weeks, a program record for the longest stretch without a home game.
