There were no surprises on the “first official day of practice” for the UTEP men’s basketball team Tuesday, they’ve been working out under first-year coach Joe Golding for four months.
The Miners knew long before Wednesday they were getting a fireball of energy.
Golding talks about outworking other teams and he sets that example in practice, where he’s constantly moving, constantly working his team, wearing his voice thin with 29 practices still to come before the Nov. 9 opener against Western New Mexico.
“The experience has been one of a kind,” said Jumari Sibley, one of six newcomers on a team with nine returners.
