Kayla Thornton has always considered her entire life a blessing, but at the dawn of her fourth WNBA season and her third with the Dallas Wings, she's is indeed living a beautiful dream that just keeps getting better.
The UTEP and Irvin alumna is coming off a championship, MVP season in the Women's Korean Basketball League. And in the Wings' season-opening loss at Atlanta earlier this week, Thornton led her team in minutes while scoring 9 points and grabbing six rebounds.
With the Wings' star Skylar Diggins-Smith out for a bit following the birth of her child last month, with a new coach in place this year in Brian Agler, Thornton's role has grown as the 26-year-old enters her prime — and she's embraced that.
