UTEP graduate tees off for Olympic gold Saturday

Gerina Piller is on the doorstep of a golden moment.

Piller, a University of Texas at El Paso graduate, is tied for second place with New Zealand's Lydia Ko and is only two shots back of leader Inbee Park of South Korea after three rounds of the women's Olympic Golf Tournament at the Olympic Golf Course in Rio de Janeiro.

The three will chase the coveted Olympic gold medal Saturday morning. The event will be televised live on The Golf Channel beginning at 6 a.m. MDT. Piller, Ko and Park tee off at 6:22 a.m.

In her post-match news conference Friday, when asked what kind of conditions she hoped for on Saturday, Piller smiled and said, "The worst conditions possible.
