On the eve of camp, UTEP just took its first injury blow, as projected starting tailback Quadraiz Wadley is out for the year with a toe injury.

Wadley has dealt with injury issues throughout his career, and his absence will elevate Trayvon Hughes to the top of the depth chart with true freshman Deion Hankins from Parkland also competing for the starting job.

Wadley suffered the injury during summer conditioning and will require surgery.

“This is an unfortunate incident for our team and this young man during preparations for the 2019 season,” coach Dana Dimel said.
