Winning its second game of the young season, the Miners reached a win total that has not been achieved since 2016 with a 17-13 victory over the Abilene Christian University (ACU) Wildcats.
The Miners offense struggled most of the game, being outgained 308-293 by the FCS (Football Championship Subdivision Wildcats) Wildcats. Neither team was able to build a consistent running attack with both teams averaging 2.9 yards per carry on the ground.
Abilene Christian scored on its second possession after fumbling on its first drive. Going 56 yards on six plays, the Wildcats scored on a Jeremiah Dobbins 2 –yard run to take a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter.
