Kugler said earlier on Monday that Zack Greenlee would start versus FIU if Metz was not cleared. Kavika Johnson will be the backup and Mark Torrez is the emergency quarterback.
Metz left the game in the fourth quarter after taking a hit along the sidelines after a 12-yard scramble.
