At the end of a spring all about continuity, the UTEP football team will make a most welcome change.
For the first time in three years, there will be a spring game. There will be two teams, four quarters, the Sun Bowl scoreboard will be turned on, the lights will shine and notably, there will be tackling.
As fun as that should be for fans, who need to get a free ticket online to attend the 7 p.m. game Friday night, it will be even more fun for the players.
"This is exciting, we get to go out and compete against ourselves and ultimately make ourselves better, get a live experience," quarterback Gavin Hardison said after Wednesday's final practice of spring.
