When UTEP takes the field as a decided underdog Saturday, the Miners will be 644 days removed — one year, nine months and five days — from their last victory.
Since then the Miners have changed coaches twice, replaced the entire staff once and lost a dozen times. Also since then, each of the 128 other teams in the FBS have all won at least one game.
"It's crazy to think about," cornerback Nik Needham said. "We haven't won a game in two years."
And they're not expected to break that streak Saturday. Even though their opponent, Northern Arizona, plays in the lower division FCS.
