The UTEP football program signed 17 football players on Wednesday on the first day of the early signing period, highlighted by Parkland offensive lineman Tyrone McDuffie and 15 junior college players.
Miners coach Dana Dimel said the program could add a handful of players in the coming days.
The Miners signed nine defensive players (two defensive backs, four defensive linemen and three linebackers) and eight offensive players (three tight ends, three offensive linemen, one quarterback and one running back).
McDuffie was a late commit to UTEP after he had initially committed to Colorado in the summer, but the new Buffaloes coaching staff withdrew the offer to McDuffie.
