A.J. Hotchkins finished his only season at UTEP as the Conference USA tackle king.
He entered tied with Florida International's Sage Lewis at 117. Lewis had nine in a loss to Marshall that ended as UTEP's 39-7 loss to Southern Miss began.
Hotchkins had eight tackles in the first half but didn't get his ninth until 1:30 was remaining in the third quarter. He later had a minor injury and missed the final two series, so he and Lewis ended up tied with 126.
