UTEP football coach Sean Kugler's promise to recruit locally came to fruition long before Wednesday, so national signing day will simply mark the biggest example of the Miners commitment to mining El Paso talent.
A class that could end up with 29 players includes seven locals, the biggest haul of four Kugler classes that have all been heavy on El Pasoans.
"I'm really excited about UTEP and the future with the football program," Chapin receiver Brannon Bullitt said. "I had a great visit earlier this month and I believe the signing class will be very good. It will be great to play on the team with all the local players.
