The 98th meeting between the UTEP and New Mexico State football teams Saturday night was always going to be one of the most unique of the series.
This matches UTEP's earliest ever start, it's one of five FBS games this weekend and it comes on the heels of a mess of a 2020 season.
UTEP coach Dana Dimel, in his first Monday press conference of the season, can't wait.
"It's always a great camp of preparation when you have a game Week 0," he said. "That's something to get your team on edge. And when you're playing your arch-rival in your opener it gets you ready to compete.
