From the moment this season kicked off for the UTEP football team, there was a wide perception the Miners would be 2-1 heading into a home toss-up game with 2-1 New Mexico.
And here it is, as UTEP kicks off Saturday night as a 2-point favorite in a game that could set the tone for the rest of the season. The game begins at 7 p.m. at Sun Bowl Stadium.
'Big game' for Miners, Dimel says
This is the first pivotal game of this season, the first home game against an FBS team since 2019 and that led coach Dana Dimel to an obvious conclusion at his Monday news conference to kick off UNM week.
