UTEP battled from behind twice against Florida Atlantic on a warm and beautiful May Saturday afternoon at Helen of Troy Field.
But the Miners fell short each time — dropping the first game 7-4 and the second game 11-8.
UTEP is now 11-36 on the season and 5-15 in Conference USA play. Florida Atlantic improved to 35-19 and 15-8.
UTEP got down early in game one, scrambled back but could never get all the way back. Florida Atlantic scored two in the first, three more in the third and added a pair of insurance runs in the fourth to edge UTEP 7-4 in game one of the Miners' final series of the season.
