UTEP defensive stopper Tydus Verhoeven enters transfer portal

UTEP lost its biggest name yet to the transfer portal as defensive stopper and two-year starter Tydus Verhoeven will take a graduate transfer and be immediately eligible wherever he lands.

The move was first reported by Verbal Commits.

Joining him will be sophomore guard Adam Hess, who played in seven games this past season. They join previously announced Efe Odigie and Vuk Vulikic in the portal.

The 6-foot-9 Verhoeven, officially listed as a redshirt junior this past year, is the biggest name after starting every game this season and leading the team with 21 blocks in 24 games, including five against Kansas.
