UTEP blows out FIU, runs streak to nine

The stars were different but the result was the same for the UTEP women's basketball team at Florida International on Saturday. The Miners roll on.

UTEP broke open a tight game with a big run starting in the third quarter and cruised home for a 73-57 win that looked much like Friday's victory. The Miners ran their winning streak to nine, matching the fourth longest streak in program history and the longest since 2013-14.

The five-game road winning streak is the third longest in UTEP history. The Miners are now 11-3 in Conference USA.

Quoting the coach

"Our defense was incredible to hold them to seven points in the third quarter, and about the same in the fourth quarter (11 points) until they got a few late," coach Kevin Baker said.
