The UTEP men's basketball team ran out of bullets against Rice Saturday night, blowing a 20-point second-half lead, blowing chances at the end of regulation and the first overtime and perhaps blowing their best shot at the postseason in an 85-81 double-overtime loss to Saturday night.
Coming in without Efe Odigie, perhaps done for the year after an ankle injury in Friday's practice, UTEP lost Jordan Lathon to fouls in the first overtime after his freshman program record 32 points to go with 18 rebounds, and also lost Kaosi Ezeagu and Evan Gilyard to foul outs.
