EL PASO, Texas -- Paul Thomas had 12 points with 13 rebounds as UTEP rolled to its third-straight win, beating Texas-San Antonio 59-39 on Saturday night.
Omega Harris added 16 points and Jake Flaggert chipped in 11.
UTEP (5-13, 3-3 Conference USA) had dropped 12 straight before winning back-to-back games for the first time this season. Those victories were hard work as they beat Florida International 88-87 in double overtime and followed with a 66-65 extra period win over Florida Atlantic.
UTSA won the first meeting between the teams, beating the Miners 67-55.
