UTEP faces its biggest challenge of the young season Wednesday night in Tucson.
The Miners will take on the University of Arizona at 6 p.m. MT.
UTEP is 1-1 and, while Arizona is 2-0, this is a rare Wildcat team. Arizona is not nationally ranked. Last year's starting five left for some version of professional basketball, leaving the Wildcats in a rare spot — off the college basketball radar.
UTEP dropped Division 2 UT-Permian Basin 90-63 in the Don Haskins Center, then fell to rival New Mexico State 96-69 in Las Cruces. Arizona has a pair of home wins — 90-60 over Houston Baptist and 82-61 over Cal Poly.
