The UTEP Miners men's basketball team talks about what it will take to beat Louisiana Tech in Ruston. Bret Bloomquist, El Paso Times
If the UTEP men's basketball team is going to qualify for the Conference USA tournament, it almost certainly is going to have to break it's season-long road losing streak.
The next chance is Saturday at Southern Miss, where the Golden Eagles put their 9-2 home mark and five-game winning streak against the Miners' 0-10 road mark.
Playing competitively away from the Don Haskins Center has not been UTEP's problem. While their 71-57 loss at Louisiana Tech Thursday was their second-worse road loss since November, they were within three in the final four minutes before a string of late Louisiana Tech 3-pointers and free throws.
