Tim Floyd grabbed a commitment from a Chicago point guard.
Fresh off his official visit earlier in the week when he officially committed, Chicago point guard Evan Gilyard announced his verbal commitment to UTEP on Friday morning.
Gilyard is rated as a three-star prospect by Scout, ESPN, and 247Sports, and had offers from Rhode Island, Southern Illinois, and Dayton. He also drew interest from Texas, and Georgetown during his recruiting process.
A savvy point guard, who has been described as a pesky defender, Gilyard gives UTEP three verbal commits for the class of 2017, plus a Prop 48 prospect who is already on campus.
