UTEP and New Mexico State meet for the 98th time Saturday, the 41st time in Las Cruces, with the Miners kicking off as a 10-point favorite.
The Miners lead a series 57-38-2, with the Aggies ahead 21-19-1 in games in Las Cruces. The series dates back to 1914. NMSU has won the last three matchups, snapping an eight-game UTEP run in the series.
Last year when the Aggies didn't play fall football it marked the first year the teams didn't meet since 2003.

Like so many of these matchups, this is a mystery on New Mexico State's side as the two quarterbacks the Aggies are going to use, junior transfer Jonah Johnson and freshman Weston Eget, haven't taken an FBS snap.
