UTEP at New Mexico State: How they match up

UTEP and New Mexico State meet for the 98th time Saturday, the 41st time in Las Cruces, with the Miners kicking off as a 10-point favorite.

The Miners lead a series 57-38-2, with the Aggies ahead 21-19-1 in games in Las Cruces. The series dates back to 1914. NMSU has won the last three matchups, snapping an eight-game UTEP run in the series.

Last year when the Aggies didn't play fall football it marked the first year the teams didn't meet since 2003.

Here is a look at the matchups:

Quarterback Edge: UTEP

Like so many of these matchups, this is a mystery on New Mexico State's side as the two quarterbacks the Aggies are going to use, junior transfer Jonah Johnson and freshman Weston Eget, haven't taken an FBS snap.
