UTEP alum and volunteer assistant coach Tobi Amusan, representing Nigeria, finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, charging from near the back of the pack to coming within 0.05 of a medal at the Olympics on Monday.
Amusan finished in 12.60, Jamaica's Megan Tapper's 12.55 for the final medal. Kentucky alums Jamine Camacho Quinn, representing Puerto Rico, and Kendra Harrison, representing the USA, went 1-2 in 12.37 and 12.52, respectively.
The 24-year-old Amusan started slow but came on at the midpoint of the race. Her lunge at the line ended up just short of a medal.
